They are £5 each. We will be selling them at the Henley Christmas Fayre on Saturday November 27th so make sure you buy one before they all go! If you can help in the kitchen anytime between 8:30am and 3:30pm you'd be more than welcome!!

June 2010
Volunteer required.
We're looking for a volunteer trustee to help run pre-school alongside the committee. Pre-school is run by parents of the children who volunteer to join the committee. As their children move on to primary school these parents naturally step down and all the knowledge and expertise they have gained is lost (although there is normally a hand-over period). This is very unsettling for staff and not ideal for pre-school as a whole so we are looking for someone to join the committee in the longer term to provide some stability. If you are interested, or you know someone who might be, please get in touch with us. You don't have to have any connection to pre-school, experience or specialist knowledge, just a desire to help! The amount of time you put in is up to you too. You don't have to volunteer alone, why not get involved as a couple? Please note that all volunteers are subject to CRB checks. We look forward to hearing from you!
May 2010

April 2010
Suffolk County Council and local Councillor John Field have generously given us some money for new equipment. We have already spent some of it on new sand and water trays (which are a big hit with the children, hence the bags of soggy clothing at home time - sorry)! some colourful splash mats and a large 'footprints' rug. We also intend to up-date our prospectus, buy a new staff uniform and replace our old shed with a brand new, maintenance-free one! On behalf of the pre-school committee, the staff and the children, thank you so much to SCC and John Field.

December 2009
Thanks to everyone who made cakes, buns, muffins and biscuits etc for the Community Centre's Christmas Fayre on Saturday. Despite a disappointing lack of volunteers to help in the kitchen the committee raised just over £200 so well done ladies! Thanks to Alex for doing the preparations beforehand, making the delicious soup etc and to Jill for helping in the kitchen all day. There were some very tired feet by 4 o'clock! Also, a huge 'thank you' to Jamie from JLS Catering who very generously made us some of the biggest sausage rolls I've ever seen and some very tasty cheese scones. I can highly recommend both. (Well, someone had to sample them)!
The wreath-making night was another great success with all the tickets being sold. Like last year Di Palmer gave a demonstration on how to make table decorations and other Christmassy items as well as the wreaths. With the help of mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas music there was plenty of Christmas spirit! Look out for the beautiful wreaths that were made as you drive through the local villages. Thanks to Alex for organising it all again, to Di for her very entertaining demonstration and to Tim Clarkson for providing all the greenery again. More than £250 was raised so thanks to everyone who came along.
November 2009

This money is much needed and greatly appreciated. I can't wait until the next one!
September 2009

Thanks to 'Jack White Music' and Mark, the landlord of the 'Cross Keys,' for donating raffle prizes. A special mention must also go to Gary Hobbs who won the pub card and gave the prize money back to pre-school. What a star!

Sports Day - 10/7/2009. Well done to the staff for organising it so well and to all the children who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Even the weather behaved itself! The raffle and refreshments raised £75 so all-in-all it was a very successful afternoon. Looking forward to next year's event already!

Our playhouse has arrived!!! All the children (and staff)! were very excited to see it in the garden area this morning. Many thanks to Jonathan for putting it together for us. Here it is......................
Does anyone have a spare 'pop-up' gazebo they don't want? We'd like one for the garden area to help protect the children from the sun. Thank you.
May 2009
We now have a 'piggy' in reception for snack donations. He's always hungry so please make sure you feed him lots of coins!! We also have a new red 'post-box' for all Tesco/Sainsburys/Morrisons/Box Top vouchers.
Thank you to everyone who donated bags of clothes etc for our Bag2School collection last Wednesday (May 20th). There was quite a pile by 12 o'clock when the van came to take them away to be weighed. As soon as we know how much money was raised we'll let you know.
The date of our next committee meeting has changed. It is now on Monday 1st June at 7:30pm at the Cross Keys. All parents are welcome to attend.
April 2009
The staff and committee thought the children might like to have a permanent playhouse in the garden area. If you would like to contribute towards it's purchase (it costs £400) we would be most grateful. You can give cash or cheques (made payable to 'Henley Pre-School Centre') to Lisa at pre-school or you can make a donation on-line via this website. (Go to the bottom of our fundraising page and click on the 'donate' button). We know times are difficult but even £1 or so would help. Thank you very much.
Our Easter Morning Market was a great success and almost £300 was raised for pre-school. Thank you to everyone who came along and to the parents who helped out. A special thanks to Alex for all her hard work in organising this event.
Our next committee meeting is on Monday 27th April, 7:30pm at the Cross Keys. Coming to committee meetings is a great way to put across any idea you may have and to help organise fundraising events. It also gives you a chance to meet other parents and to become actively involved in your child's early years education. If you'd like to join the committee but can't attend meetings in the evening please speak to a current member and we'll arrange a more convenient time for everyone.
March 2009

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!
We're still in need of volunteers to help serve the refreshments on Saturday Nov 29th at the Community Centre's Christmas Fayre. If you are able to help, even if only for half an hour, please put your name on the list in pre-school reception or just turn up on the day. The fayre starts at 10:30 and finishes at 3:30pm and we hope to have the kitchen open the whole time but we can only do this if we get enough helpers. We'd also appreciate donations of cakes and biscuits etc to sell (home-made or shop bought). Please could you bring these into pre-school on Friday Nov 28th.
We really do need you.
Don't forget that if you want to order anything from the 'Yellow Moon' or 'Scholastic Book Club' catalogues you pay no P&P charges if you order through pre-school. The dead-line is 14th November to ensure items arrive in time for Christmas.

Great news!! A successful AGM was held last night and (just)! enough volunteers came forward to form a new committee. The new Chair is Nicola Hall, Vice Chair is Louise Prentice, Treasurer is Jill Adams and Secretary is Andrea Turner. Other members are Alex Adams who is staying on from the previous committee and we welcome Angie Gipson and affilliate member Mark White. Many thanks to all of you for coming forward and a big thank you to Sarah Quinton, Doreen Harvey, Tim Green and Lana Fleming for the superb work they did on the previous committee. We look forward to Henley Pre-school's continued success.
Please come to our AGM on Monday September 29th at 8pm in the Boughton Room at the Community Centre. We will (hopefully)! be electing new committee members as the majority, including the main post-holders, are standing down after 2 years now that their children are moving on to Primary school. So far, despite requests, we've had no volunteers and you may not be aware that pre-school will have to close if these posts are not filled. As well as Chair and Secretary posts we also need 'ordinary' members to help with advertising, fundraising etc. The committee has to have a minimum of 5 members. If you want pre-school to continue and would like to get more involved in how it's run or help with our various fundraising activities now is the time to come forward! We don't want to lose our lovely pre-school.
